The idea for the Candy Scoop first started out in – not surprisingly – a local candy shop in Portland, when three friends were wandering the aisles and were suddenly hit with an amazing idea: Why not make their own website to share their love of all things sweet!?
And so we created this website! Our goal is to offer the latest news and reviews when it comes to the delicious world of candy. From delectable chocolate treats and chewy gummies to specialty imports and gourmet sweets, we cover just about everything that’s covered in sugar!

ANIKA BRADY, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
ANIKA BRADY
Anika currently lives in Portland, Oregon and has been a dedicated candy fanatic for as long as she can remember (reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when she was eight might also be responsible). By day, she works as a marketing manager, but by night she’s out hunting for the latest gourmet chocolates (anything with almonds is a must have). When she isn’t reading, writing or running, Anika enjoys time spending cooking (poorly) and spending time with her dog Milo.
ASHLEY DINH , SENIOR EDITOR
Ash lives in Portland and is a graduate from the University of Oregon (go Ducks!) with a degree in Communications. She’s a huge fan of gummies and anything bright, colorful and sticky (three things she was almost never allowed to have when she was a kid). She believes Sour Patch Kids are mankind’s greatest achievement (sorry, sliced bread) and spends way too much time in the bulk candy aisle at the grocery store. When she’s not working or reading, she spends time hanging with her boyfriend, Matt, and rocking out to bad 90s pop music.
EMMA KYLE , SENIOR EDITOR
Emma currently lives in Beaverton, Oregon where she works in sales. She’s a die hard fan of Jelly Belly (even the weird popcorn flavor that most people don’t like). She also enjoys traveling and trying out new international candy (Hungarian licorice is the best!). When she’s not working she spends time with her two cats, Arya and Sansa, haunting Tik Tok, and working on getting her Masters Degree.
CLAIRE WALLS , SENIOR EDITOR
Claire is a native of beautiful Portland, Oregon where she works as an advertising account manager (and actually once had Hershey as a client!). She’s a huge fan of a wide range of candy (the more sour, the better). When she isn’t busy rock climbing and riding her bike she enjoys reading, writing and eating way too many gummy Nerd ropes.
